A Monthly Beginner Meditation Class

This monthly class offers a clear, supportive introduction to Buddhist meditation practice. Each session is designed for beginners and for anyone who wants to return to the foundations of practice.

 
 
 

What You’ll Learn


In this 90-minute class, we will cover:

  • How to establish a stable, sustainable meditation posture

  • The fundamentals of shamatha (calm-abiding) meditation

  • How to work skillfully with breath, attention, and distraction

  • Common challenges in early practice—and how to meet them with kindness

You’ll receive clear instruction, guided practice, and time for questions.

This class is especially suited for:

  • People new to meditation

  • Those who feel unsure or inconsistent in their practice

  • Practitioners wanting to strengthen their foundation

  • Anyone curious about Buddhist meditation

No prior experience is necessary.

Teacher

Adriana DiFazio

Adriana DiFazio (she/they) is Heart Sangha’s Executive Director and a Buddhist meditation teacher with roots in both the Nyingma and Kagyu lineages of Tibetan Buddhism. In this class, she teaches foundational Buddhist meditation practices with a focus on each student’s buddha-nature. Her classes are warm, clear, and grounded in helping students cultivate confidence in their practice.
