Volunteer
Volunteering is an opportunity to practice the Buddhism in its original form. When the Buddha taught, it was in response to the sangha asking for teachings, and holding the conditions for the teachings to happen. Being on the path of the dharma is an expression of an open heart. We are an entirely volunteer-run group. Every program, retreat, and Sunday is staffed through the generosity of people in the sangha.
This makes participating in the sangha an opportunity to practice the Bodhisattva’s path where dana, generosity, is the first step.
Volunteers get the opportunity to practice giving without expecting anything in return. This is transcendent generosity. Through this practice we transform our egoic habits into selfless ones.
